Top Gun on 918Kiss (SCR888): how the 243-ways reels pay and what the jets do

Top Gun is the film-licensed slot in the 918Kiss lobby, and the first thing to understand about it is on the edges of the reels: the side tabs read 243 WAYS, not a list of line numbers. That changes how you read every spin.

243 ways in plain terms

Five reels of three rows gives 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 = 243 possible paths from left to right. The game pays any of them. A symbol on reel one, the same symbol anywhere on reel two, anywhere on reel three, and so on, counts as a win. Row does not matter; neighbouring reels do.

Two things follow. There is no Lines control, so you cannot make a spin cheaper by switching lines off. And one symbol showing twice on the same reel doubles the number of ways it pays.

The cast and the props

The high symbols are pilots and instructors in round badges, each with a name on a ribbon: Charlie (curly blonde hair, gold frame), Goose (teal frame), Iceman (white uniform, blue frame), Stinger (red frame) and one more in a green frame. The middle symbols are a brown flight jacket with patches and aviator sunglasses on a clipboard. Silver A, K, Q and J fill the rest.

In the second screenshot, Charlie turns up on reels one, three and five with no Charlie on reel two, so she does not pay here even though she appears three times. That is the ways rule working against you.

Wild wings and jets

The WILD is the Top Gun wings badge, red and silver. In the third screenshot three of them land on reels one, two and five, and the WIN box reads 165 on a bet of 25. The winning tiles light up while the rest dim.

The fighter jets appear two ways: as round badges (one on reel one has 50 under it in that spin) and as a larger square jet tile, seen on reel five in the first screenshot. They are the likely feature trigger, but the free games themselves are not in these screenshots.

Cost and pacing

The bottom bar is i, BALANCE, Bet with minus and plus, WIN, AUTO and SPIN. Because 243 ways is always on, Bet is the full price of a spin. At 25 a spin, a 23,000-point balance is plenty; on a thin balance, step Bet down first and do not reach for AUTO until you have seen twenty or thirty spins play out.
