Green Light (3Win8): the red-or-green scatter, the driver wild and the car-race free games

Green Light is a motor-racing slot on 3Win8 with a black-and-white checkered background, bright candy-coloured card letters and a pit-lane cast: a driver, a race car, a trophy presenter, champagne and a gold trophy. Its two features are both built around the start lights of a race.

The screen

Across the top: MINOR (800.00 in the hero), RANDOM JACKPOT (about 16,100) and MAJOR, with the GREEN LIGHT logo under the middle bar. Line tabs 1 to 20 run down both sides. The bottom bar has LINES and LINE BET with blue arrows, a BET / WIN box, and AUTO and SPIN. The hero is set to 20 lines at 0.10, a total of 2.00.

The traffic-light scatter

The scatter is a round green light. The help page adds a twist: when two or more land, each one flips to red or green, and only the green ones pay. Scatter pays are 1, 3, 10 and 200 times the total bet for two to five green lights, anywhere on the reels.

So a spin with three lights is not automatically a trigger. It depends on how many stay green.

The driver wild

The driver in a helmet is the substitute. He stands in for everything except the lights, and the prize is doubled whenever he substitutes in a winning line. On his own he pays 10, 200, 2000 and 10000 for two to five. The help page prints a second WITH SUBSTITUTE column beside each symbol with the doubled figures.

The race feature

Three or more green lights start the race:

1. Five cars are revealed and you pick one.
2. The cars race. 1st to 5th place win 25, 20, 15, 10 or 5 free games.
3. If your car comes 1st or 2nd, a second race runs and pays 100, 50, 25, 10 or 5 times the triggering bet.
4. During the free games, prizes are doubled, and the feature can retrigger.

Free games use the lines and bet of the spin that triggered them, so the line count you choose before the trigger is the one you keep.

A small line win

In this capture the stake was 5 lines at 0.04, a 0.20 total. The banner reads "LINES 4 WIN 0.08". Two champagne bottles sit on the path of line 4, and 0.08 is two times the 0.04 line bet, which fits a two-symbol pay for that group.

Pacing

Because free games copy the triggering bet, dropping to 5 lines to save money also shrinks the feature. A better saving is all 20 lines at the lowest line bet.
