5 Koi Legends (Joker123): the koi reskin of 5 Dragons, screen by screen
Same engine as 5 Dragons, new coat of paint: blue reels, lucky-character medallions and a golden koi wild. Here is what changes and what does not.

If you have played 5 Dragons on Joker123, you already know how 5 Koi Legends works. The math layout, the 243 ways and the free-game menu carry over almost line for line. What changes is the look and the symbol set, and that is worth knowing before your first spin so the screen does not confuse you.
First look at the screen
The reel strips are deep navy blue with a wave pattern, set inside a bronze frame. Behind them is a purple night pond with lotus buds at the edges. The top bar is the usual Joker123 jackpot strip (MAJOR, RANDOM, MINOR), and the bottom bar reads WAYS 243, PLAY, TOTAL PLAY, WIN and SPIN.
Where 5 Dragons uses animals, 5 Koi Legends uses round lucky-character medallions, each labelled in English under the Chinese:
- Green Lu, "Prosperity": 2000 / 300 / 100 for 5 / 4 / 3
- Purple Fu, "Good Luck": 1500 / 200 / 75
- Blue Cai, "Wealth": 1500 / 200 / 75
- Red Ji, "Lucky": 500 / 100 / 50
- Red envelopes: 500 / 100 / 50

Wild and scatter
The wild is a golden koi on a green square. In the normal game it lands on reels 2, 3 and 4 only and substitutes for all symbols except the scatter. One screenshot shows a koi on reel 3 joining two Lucky medallions for a 3.00 win at the minimum stake.
The scatter is a red-and-gold coin with a square hole. It pays 50, 10 or 5 times, counted left to right, and any scatter win opens the feature menu. The help text notes that scatter wins are total bet times the odds, added on top of way wins.
The free-game menu
Five cards, five choices. The first gives 25 free games with wild multipliers of 2, 3 or 5, and the last gives 10 free games at 10, 15 or 30. The three in between step along the same ladder, fewer games for bigger multipliers. During the feature a set of coloured "Koi Feature" wilds replaces the normal one.
A small red icon landing on reels 1 and 5 during free games gives a bonus prize of 50, 20, 15, 10, 5 or 2, and the feature can be retriggered.
What this means for your bet
TOTAL PLAY is 0.50 at the lowest PLAY setting, the same as 5 Dragons. If you are moving between the two games on a small budget, nothing about the stake changes. Pick the reskin you find easier to read: the medallions here are bigger and higher-contrast than the gold animals in 5 Dragons.

Troubleshooting and questions
Is there a mystery or 6-free-game option in 5 Koi Legends?
Not on the Joker123 help screen captured here. It lists five packages only, from 25 free games to 10.
Can the koi wild land on reel 1?
No. In the normal game it appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 only, like the dragon wild in 5 Dragons.
