5 Dragons is the Joker123 version of the well-known Aristocrat-style 243-ways game. The reels are red columns with a gold lattice pattern under a pagoda roof beam, and the words REEL POWER sit on blue tabs either side. The whole game turns on one decision you make when the free games trigger, so that is what this page covers.

The base game in brief

There are no paylines. The WAYS box reads 243, and a win is any run of matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel. The help screen adds that each symbol can be used only once per winning combination.

The picture symbols are a gold phoenix, a green-and-gold foo dog, a gold koi, a gold turtle and a red envelope with the character Fu. Card values run 9, 10, J, Q, K and A, drawn in bright red, green, yellow and blue.

The wild is a green dragon head in a round frame and lands only on reels 2, 3 and 4. It replaces every symbol except the scatter, which is a gold Qianlong coin.

How the free games trigger

The help text is short: "Feature is won with any [coin] win. Choose your Free Game Feature." A scatter win pays the total bet times its odds, added to any way wins, and then opens the choice screen.

The five options

Each option pairs a number of free games with a set of multipliers. When a coloured dragon wild is part of a free-game win, that win is multiplied by one of the listed values:

  • 25 free games: x2, x3 or x5
  • 20 free games: x3, x5 or x8
  • 15 free games: x5, x8 or x10
  • 13 free games: x8, x10 or x15
  • 10 free games: x10, x15 or x30

The coloured dragons (red, white, black, blue and yellow on the help art) replace the normal green wild during the feature. The feature can be retriggered, and a small note says the number of features remaining is shown by the icons collected.

Red envelopes in the free games

During free games a red envelope landing on both reel 1 and reel 5 gives a bonus prize of 50, 20, 15, 10, 5 or 2 times. It is a nice top-up, not the main event.

Setting the bet

With PLAY at its lowest, 0.01, TOTAL PLAY shows 0.50. That makes 5 Dragons pricier per spin than the nine-line Joker123 games next to it, so a 20-spin block costs 10 credits at minimum. The WIN box on the screenshots shows 0.20, 0.30 and 1.45, the last from two dragon wilds side by side.

A note on pacing

Pick the free-game option before the trigger, not in the heat of it. A small budget lasts longer through a feature that gives 25 or 20 games.

The koi-themed follow-up is on 5 Koi Legends. For the rest of the lobby see the Joker123 overview, and get a Joker123 game ID if you do not have one.

Troubleshooting and questions

Which 5 Dragons free-game option should I pick?

None is marked as better on the help screen. More games at low multipliers gives steadier small wins; 10 games at x10 to x30 is a shorter, swingier feature.

Why is TOTAL PLAY 0.50 when PLAY is 0.01?

The 243-ways stake is a fixed multiple of the PLAY value, so the smallest setting on the screenshots costs 0.50 per spin.
