Choy Sun Doa (Joker123): the paytable, the gold ingot and the God of Wealth wild

Choy Sun Doa is the Joker123 take on the Aristocrat-style God of Wealth slot. Cream-coloured reels sit inside a red and gold frame, a blue lake scene shows at the edges, and REEL POWER tabs mark both sides. The screen is busy, but the paytable is short once you sort the symbols into groups.

What sits on the screen

Along the top: the credit box on the left, then three jackpot meters labelled MAJOR, RANDOM and MINOR, and on the right the sound, info and home buttons. The meters tick up between spins; the screenshots show RANDOM sitting between about 740 and 1,380.

The bottom panel has five boxes: WAYS (243), PLAY with minus and plus, TOTAL PLAY, WIN and a SPIN button with "HOLD FOR AUTO SPIN" printed under it. Everything is counted in GP rather than ringgit.

The symbols, from the top down

• Gold dragon: the highest payer, 2000 for five, 300 for four, 100 for three.
• Square-holed gold coin and green jade ring: 1500 for five.
• Red koi and red envelope: 500 for five.
• A and K: 300 for five, drawn in pink and orange with small crowns.
• Q, J, 10 and 9: the low end, with the 9 at 100 for five.

All wins pay left to right on adjacent reels, and the help screen says each symbol can be used only once per winning combination.

The two special symbols

The God of Wealth, a smiling bearded figure in red robes, is the wild. He appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 only and replaces everything except the ingot. In one screenshot he stacks on reels 2 and 3 in the same spin, which is how the bigger base-game wins happen.

The gold ingot is the scatter. The paytable marks it "paid left to right", and a scatter win equals total bet times its odds, added on top of any way wins.

The free-game choice

Any ingot win opens the feature. You pick one of five packages: 25, 20, 15, 13 or 10 free games, each with its own wild multipliers (fewer games, bigger multipliers). During free games a red envelope on reels 1 and 5 together pays a bonus prize of 50, 20, 15, 10, 5 or 2 times, and the feature can be retriggered.

Pacing on a small budget

At the lowest PLAY of 0.01 a spin costs 0.50, so 40 spins use 20 GP. That is a reasonable test block for a 243-ways game where most spins return a card-symbol win of a few cents. The WIN boxes on the screenshots show 0.50, 3.00 and 3.95.
