Samurai Heroes on Live22: the full-reel WILD, the torii bonus and 25 lines

Samurai Heroes is a light-hearted Japanese slot in the Live22 lobby. The characters are drawn chibi style (big heads, small bodies) and the reels sit on parchment inside a dojo with paper sliding screens on both sides. A shuriken is pinned to the top-left corner and the TOKYO jackpot badge hangs top right.

Reels, lines and symbols

The grid is five reels by three rows. Coloured tabs down the left and right edges are numbered 1 to 25, so you can see exactly where each of the 25 lines starts and ends.

The cast, roughly from the higher-looking symbols down:

• Samurai in armour, scowling
• Sumo wrestler
• Ninja in a black hood on a green disc
• Red oni mask with long white hair
• War fan with a red rising sun
• Crossed katanas on a stand
• Shuriken

There are no card letters at all, which makes the screen busy but easy to read once you know the faces.

The pagoda WILD

The WILD is the symbol to watch. It lands as one tall panel filling an entire reel: a pagoda over a blue wave, with W-I-L-D written down it in gold. Because it covers all three rows, it joins every line that passes through that reel.

In the capture above, at a total bet of 25, sumo wrestlers on reels 1, 2 and 3 joined the WILD on reel 4 for a line paying 60. In the next spin two WILD reels landed side by side on reels 3 and 4, and the same sort of sumo line came in at 60 inside a total spin win of 180. Two wild reels next to each other connect many lines at once, which is where the larger results in this game come from.

The torii BONUS tile

On the opening screen, reel 5 shows a red torii gate in front of Mount Fuji with START written above and BONUS below. That is the feature trigger. The screenshots do not show the bonus round itself, so check the i screen for how many tiles you need and what it pays.

Reading a small win

When a line pays, a thin coloured line connects the symbols and the amount appears in a small box on the reel. Here a geisha line was marked 1 while the spin total came to 51, so several lines paid together.

Bet panel and pacing

The panel is the plain version: minus, TOTAL BET, plus, MAX BET, the win box, AUTO SPIN and SPIN. There is no FAST button. The captures started at 100 a spin and dropped to 25; at 25 the balance stayed between 1,397 and 1,587 across the later captures, with the two WILD hits pulling it back up. At a lower stake the wild reels still carry the session, so a 25 bet is a sensible place to learn the game.
