Southern Fortune Lion is Live22's take on the old three-reel fruit machine, re-dressed for Chinese New Year. There is no jackpot strip and no feature screen in the captures: three reels, one payline, a red lattice frame and a pair of glowing light bars down the sides, like an old arcade cabinet.
The symbols
Everything on the reels comes from a lion dance troupe:
- Lion dance head, grey and white with red trim
- Laughing Buddha mask, the big-head character who teases the lion
- Red diamond with the gold character 發 (fa, prosperity)
- Green drum marked 春 (spring)
- Gold cymbals
- Firecrackers
The message under the reels in the hero shot reads "WILD 2X MULTIPLIER!". On a one-line game that matters: a wild on the line doubles whatever the other two symbols pay. The captures do not label which symbol is wild, and the lion head is the obvious candidate.
How a spin reads
The single line runs straight across the middle of the window, between the two PAYLINE tabs. In the spin above, the lion head sat right on it with cymbals and the Buddha mask either side, and the machine paid 100 at a total bet of 100: the stake back.
A later spin with three 發 diamonds showing across the reels paid 500, five times the bet. "TOTAL WIN" appears in a strip above the panel as well as in the win box.
The bet value bar
Below the main panel is a blue strip labelled BET VALUE with three buttons: X1, X2 and X3. The highlighted one (X1 in all three captures) multiplies your stake. Combined with the + and - buttons and MAX BET, that gives a wide spread of bets on a very simple game, so check both settings before you press the big red SPIN.
Pacing a session
With one line there are many dead spins in a row, and the balance in these captures fell from 4,632 to 3,632 even with the 500 hit. Keep BET VALUE on X1, use the lowest TOTAL BET step, and treat this as a quick 20-minute machine rather than a long sit.

Troubleshooting and questions
How many lines does Southern Fortune Lion have?
One. The word PAYLINE sits on tabs at the left and right edges of the reel window, pointing at the single line across the middle.
Is there a jackpot bar?
Not on this machine. The top bar shows the game logo where other Live22 slots show the total jackpot and the four meters.
