Fountain of Youth (LPE88): reading the 3-reel, 3-line paytable

Fountain of Youth is one of the old three-reel games in the LPE88 desktop lobby, from the same Playtech client as the original Age of the Gods. The paytable lists no wild and no bonus symbol. Everything you need is printed on the right side of the screen, so this page is mostly about reading that table.

The screen

A stone fountain sprays blue water on the left, under the curly Fountain of Youth title and an orange butterfly. The three reels sit in white panels on a green lily-pond background. Three numbered tabs on the left edge mark the lines: 2 on the top row, 1 in the middle, 3 on the bottom. Bet sits in a black box on the left, Win on the right, and your balance in small type at the very bottom (MYR98.96 here).

The paytable, top to bottom

• Three fountains: 600 on line 2, 400 on line 1, 800 on line 3
• Three butterflies: 250
• Three bluebirds: 125
• Three frogs: 60
• Three water lilies: 30
• Any three symbols, mixed: 4

The figures are coins, so multiply by the coin shown between the minus and plus buttons. At RM0.01 a coin, three frogs pay RM0.60 and the top fountain line pays RM8. The "any 3" line is the one that comes up most, and it returns a few sen at a time.

Betting

Bet One steps the bet up one line at a time, up to three. Bet Max jumps straight to all three lines, and on classic Playtech three-reelers it also spins. With the coin at RM0.01, all three lines cost RM0.03 a spin, and it is hard to justify playing fewer, since the best fountain prize sits on line 3.

Pacing

This is a slow, low-stakes game. RM3 covers a hundred spins at the smallest coin, and most results are either nothing or a RM0.04 mixed-symbol win. It suits a short break rather than a long session.
