Golden Rooster 88 (ACE333): how the Gold Symbols ladder sets your stake

Golden Rooster 88 is a 243-ways slot built around a red-and-gold Chinese New Year frame and a rooster mascot. It works differently from the line games elsewhere in ACE333: there are no lines to pick. Instead you choose a Gold Symbols level, and that choice is your stake.

First screens

The game opens on a splash of three slot cabinets under overflowing golden bowls, each showing the rooster and an "88". After that you land on the reels, and a small banner at the top says "There are 243 ways to win".

The layout from left to right:

• Left column: ACTIVE SYMBOLS at the top (small icons plus an ALL UP tag), then CREDITS with five stacked buttons from 1 GOLD SYMBOL up to 5 GOLD SYMBOLS, and BET PER SPIN with - and + underneath.
• Centre: 5 x 3 reels with "REEL WAYS" printed down the side.
• Right column: GRAND, MAJOR, MINOR and MINI jackpot bars, the large orange spin button, a loop (autoplay) button, i for info and a gear for settings.
• Bottom: BALANCE, TOTAL BET, WIN, then GAMBLE and a home button.

The Gold Symbols ladder

Each button on the left shows its cost in credits. 1 Gold Symbol is 8 credits and 5 Gold Symbols is 88 credits, with the levels between stepping up in the same pattern. The credit value comes from BET PER SPIN: at x0.10, the 8-credit level makes the TOTAL BET 0.80, which is what every screenshot shows.

In the Aristocrat-style games this design comes from, each extra level lights up another gold symbol and opens another jackpot bar, and this ACE333 version looks the same. Level 1 is the cheapest way to see the game, but it probably leaves most of the jackpot bars out of reach.

How a win is shown

A win draws a small pattern box at the top showing which positions formed it, plus the payout. Below, three green 9s on reels 1 to 3 made "1 WAY, PAYS 0.50".

The picture symbols are the rooster, silver ingots, a jade dragon disc, a gold coin, a firecracker string and a purple 福 tile, with A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 as the low pays. The old page said the wild appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4. The captures do not label a wild, so check the i screen.

Pacing

These nine shots took the balance from 34.83 to 31.63 at 0.80 a spin. That is RM0.80 per press before you move off level 1, so a RM30 balance is roughly 40 spins at the lowest level. Stepping up the ladder multiplies the cost quickly (88 credits is eleven times 8), so decide how many spins you want before you touch it.
