Ice Cave (LPE88): how the frozen x3 Ice Wilds stay put, what the Hammer Wild clears, and the Feature Bet switch

Ice Cave is a Norse-themed slot on LPE88: grey stone reels inside a frozen cavern, Viking portraits and carved rune stones. Its intro screen explains the whole feature in three lines, and everything else follows from that.

The intro screen

The game opens on a black splash with two headings:

• ICE WILD SYMBOLS: "Multiply winnings by 3x and freeze on the screen until the Hammer Wild lands."
• HAMMER WILD: "Multiplies winnings by 3x and removes all Ice Wild symbols from the screen."

A line under them adds: "Feature Bet enables extra Ice Wild symbols on reel five!" A CONTINUE button and a DON'T SHOW NEXT TIME tick box sit at the bottom.

How the two wilds work together

An Ice Wild is a pale blue frosted tile with WILD carved into it. When one lands it stays exactly where it is, spin after spin. Any win that runs through it is multiplied by 3. Over a run of spins the reels can collect several of them.

The Hammer Wild is a dark tile with a red W and a war hammer. It also pays x3, but it is the reset button: when it lands, every frozen Ice Wild is cleared. So the best stretch is the one after several Ice Wilds have built up and before the hammer arrives.

In the captures one Ice Wild froze on the bottom row of reel 3 and was still there in the later captures, when three lightning-bolt runes on the upper rows paid RM0.02.

The controls

This is LPE88's newer phone layout. Round buttons at the top left (menu) and top right (info). On the right edge a red FEATURE BET switch reading OFF, and below it a spin button labelled HOLD FOR AUTOPLAY. A half-hidden arrow on the left opens the bet panel.

The bottom bar shows YOUR BALANCE, LINES 10, a message, LINE BET RM0.01 and TOTAL BET RM0.10. The message reads "PRESS SPIN OR SWIPE THE REELS" before a spin and "TOUCH THE REELS TO STOP EARLY" during one. After a win, WIN appears in the middle and the amount flashes large over the reels.

Pacing

Frozen wilds reward staying on the game for a run of spins, so pick a line bet low enough to give it that run. At RM0.10 a spin the balance slid from RM49.75 to RM48.67 across the captures. Try a few spins with Feature Bet off before comparing it on.
