Highway Kings (LPE88): the desktop cabinet with Bet One and Bet Max, the WILD truck and the SCATTER badge

LPE88 also runs a desktop client, and its Highway Kings is the Playtech cabinet in a browser window. The layout is not the one you get on the phone apps, so this page walks through it and explains three small wins from the captures. For the other versions, see ACE333 and 3Win8.

The desktop frame

Above the game is the platform's own menu: GAMES on the left, then tabs for FEATURED, NEW, SLOTS, TABLE & CARDS, ARCADE and LIVE DEALERS, with sound and settings icons at the right. The game itself has the familiar yellow HIGHWAY KINGS logo between a red and a green semi truck, and a gold Dollar Ball badge with an ENABLE switch next to a scrolling progressive jackpot.

Line tabs 1 to 9 sit on both sides in the order 4, 6, 2, 8, 1, 9, 3, 7, 5.

The panel

One row of readouts: BET (the total, RM0.09), LINE BET (RM0.01) and WIN. Under it, a minus key, the line-bet value and a plus key, then four grey keys: Pay-table, Bet One, Bet Max and Spin. The balance shows in the bottom-left corner in MYR, falling from MYR98.66 to MYR98.50 across the captures.

Bet One and Bet Max sit right beside Spin. On a desktop a stray click on Bet Max is easy, and the BET box is the place to check.

The symbols

Steering wheels, tyres, pistons, spark plugs, dice, a fuel pump, a red jerry can, and green and red trucks. Two extra tiles appear that you may not expect from the classic game:

• A red truck with a WILD label, seen on reel 4
• A round red badge marked SCATTER, seen on reels 1, 3 and 4

Three small wins

1. RM0.20 on line 6. The line passed through fuel pumps on reels 2 and 3 and the WILD truck on reel 4, which was bracketed as part of the win.
2. RM0.04 on line 8. A shorter line passing through the WILD truck on reel 4.
3. RM0.05 on line 8. Red jerry cans on reels 1 and 2, with two SCATTER badges also showing on the middle row of reels 3 and 4.

Each win flashes yellow corner brackets round the symbols involved and draws the line in orange or purple.

Pacing

At RM0.09 a spin the balance moves in sen, not ringgit. That is a fine way to learn the cabinet. If you raise the stake, use the plus key one step at a time rather than Bet Max.
