Top Trumps Celebs turns the old trading-card game into a slot. The high symbols are photo cards of real celebrities, each with a small Top Trumps logo in the corner and the person's name printed down the side, and the low symbols are purple-and-gold 10, J, Q, K and A.
This game uses the older NTC33 frame. The menu at the top reads GAMES, SLOTS, TABLE & CARDS, ARCADE, SCRATCH and LIVE DEALERS, and the bet controls are a two-row bar in gold.
The reels and the numbered lines
There are five reels with four rows each. Line numbers run down both edges of the grid (4, 2, 20, 16, 10, 1 and so on on the left; 14, 12, 9, 18, 6 on the right). The line currently lit up is line 1, because the game starts with only one line active.
Special symbols
Three symbols do the work here:
- WILD: a gold-framed card with a rock-and-roll star on it and WILD written across the bottom. It stands in for the regular symbols.
- Top Trumps Celebs logo: the pink-and-purple logo card. The banner says three or more anywhere win 10 free games with an extra wild.
- BONUS: a red-carpet card with BONUS in gold letters. Landing it on reels 1 and 5 together starts the Red Carpet Bonus.
The screenshots only show the base game, so how the Red Carpet round plays and what it pays is something to read in INFO first.
Reading the bet bar
The top row is information: a coin value box marked "click to change" (RM0.01), SPINS with minus and plus (10), LINES (1), LINE BET (RM0.10), TOTAL BET (RM0.10) and WIN. The bottom row holds the buttons: INFO, AUTO START, LINES, BET PER LINE, BET MAX and the long red SPIN key.
Total bet is line bet times lines. At RM0.10 a line, all 20 lines cost RM2.00 a spin, which is twenty times the opening stake. Check TOTAL BET before you press anything, and keep well away from BET MAX unless you know what it will charge.
Pacing a session
Free games come from scatters anywhere, but the Red Carpet Bonus needs the BONUS card on both outside reels in the same spin. A small budget lasts longer on fewer lines, but you give up part of the line wins. Many players settle on all 20 lines at the lowest line bet. The SPINS box and AUTO START are useful for a fixed block of spins with a set limit.
Other NTC33 slots are listed in the NTC33 overview, including Top Gun, another licensed theme. To play it you need an account; you can open an NTC33 account here.
