Silent Run is a war-at-sea slot set under water, with submarines gliding past in the background and a spiky naval mine hanging in the dark on the left. The name is the old navy term for a submarine running quiet. On Mega888 it plays as a 20-line, five-reel game.

The picture symbols

The reels mix card letters with five naval pictures. From what the screenshots show:

  • Depth charge barrel, on a mustard-yellow tile. In our screenshots it turns up more than any other picture.
  • Torpedo streaking through blue water.
  • Submarine, a dark hull seen from above.
  • Sea mine, a ball with horns on a murky green tile.
  • Award warship, a grey battleship with the word Award in red letters.

The card symbols are 9, 10, J, Q, K and A in chunky bronze letters.

Wild and Scatter

The WILD is a red, flame-coloured blast with the word WILD across it. The Scatter is a round green radar screen framed in metal, labelled Scatter in orange. In one screenshot the WILD sits on reel 2 and helps a line that pays across torpedoes and submarines.

Reading the win messages

This game tells you more than most. Two small lines of text sit either side of the logo:

  • left: "You won on 3 lines" and "20 Lines selected"
  • right: "You won 0.02 on line 19" and "0.01 Bet per line"

The right-hand line appears to step through each winning line while a coloured zigzag is drawn across the reels, so you can see which line paid what. The WIN box at the top shows the total.

The stake

At 20 lines and 0.01 per line the BET box reads 0.20, which is what most of our captures used. One screenshot shows 1.00 (0.05 per line) and another only 1 line at 0.01. Dropping lines cuts the bet but also the number of ways a picture row can pay, so the better-value way to spend less is to keep 20 lines and lower the per-line bet.

The three meters, MINOR, RANDOM JACKPOT and MAJOR, sit around the logo and move between spins.

Troubleshooting and questions

How many lines does Silent Run have on Mega888?

The screenshots show 20 line numbers down the sides and '20 Lines selected'. Older write-ups mention 25; this version shows 20.

What does the Award warship do?

It is the only symbol with its own label besides WILD and Scatter, which usually marks a bonus trigger. We only have it on screen mid-spin, so check the in-game menu for the exact rule.
