Fruit Mania (LPE88): a progressive fruit slot and how fast RM1.25 a spin goes

Fruit Mania is a Playtech fruit machine on five reels, with a cartoon sun who glares out from the edges and a single progressive jackpot printed in red under the title. The reels are simple. The interesting part of these screenshots is the bet, because it shows how a small balance behaves at a big stake per line.

The screen

A bright yellow and green frame is crowded with oversized fruit: cherries on the right, a half melon, a grinning sun on the left. The FRUIT MANIA logo sits in a black bar at the top with "Progressive Jackpot RM124,040.57" beneath it. Each reel cell has a coloured backing card, and green "1" tabs on both edges mark the line in play.

Symbols: cherries, grapes, green apple, lemon, orange, plum, strawberry, the sun and a pink cocktail with a straw and a lemon slice. The old page listed the cocktail as a scatter paying 5x, 40x and 500x the bet for three, four and five. That is not visible here, so treat it as the old page's claim.

One line at RM1.25

LINES reads 1 and LINE BET reads RM1.25, so TOTAL BET is RM1.25. Over four spins the balance went RM35.30, RM34.05, RM32.80, RM31.55: four losses in a row, RM3.75 gone in about twenty seconds.

The spin above shows why single-line play is so unforgiving. Three grapes sit on the middle row across reels 2, 3 and 4, but reel 1 has the sun there, so the line does not count. With more lines, other rows would have had a chance.

A better way to size it

At RM1.25 a spin, RM35 lasts about 28 spins without a win. The same RM1.25 spread over several lines at a smaller line bet gives the reels far more ways to pay, even though each win is smaller. Try the lowest line bet with more lines first, get a feel for how often the sun turns up, and only then decide whether the stake is right.
